2018 Round Up

Share

Another extremely challenging year is nearing its close and considering the anti-plastic movement & currency fluctuations increasing the cost of our material purchases from the EU, we can report an acceptable performance

Sales values have exceeded what we did 2017, although they are short of the Budget we set ourselves in October last year

Turnover from new business has largely offset the departures to other forms of packaging and  in 2019, we are anticipating more new work from clients that have previously sourced directly from China who are concerned about rising prices and supply issues post Brexit

Last year we reported our attendance at Luxe Pack in New York which enabled us to establish a presence in the USA and on the back of that, we have begun discussions with parties interested in forming a participation to promote our products in America……………..more in this in the New Year

As mentioned earlier concerns about sustainable materials and the environment will continue for the foreseeable future and alternatives such as Bio Plastic & Breakdown Plastic are being thoroughly investigated – for now we will continue to work with Rpet made from at least 60% re-cycled bottles  (Post Consumer Waste) that is also possible to re-cycle.

Furthermore, during Q1 ’19 we will begin to source material to the same specification from British extruders which will help mitigate price changes and any Brexit related restrictions

Finally, may we thank all our existing and new customers for putting their faith in Staeger and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year
